Henry Huggins is organising a sponsored fundraising litter pick on Sunday 7th June, and everyone is warmly invited to take part.
We will meet at the car park at Chingford Plain at 12pm, before litter picking this area of Epping Forest. Adults and children are all welcome.
All money raised will go directly to Chingford Parish Church Choir. By organising this community event, we also hope to qualify for a grant from the Jack Petchey Environmental Award Scheme, with the award money going towards leaf mulch bins and vegetable beds for the local community to plant up in the church grounds.
Last year, Orry Woodhouse organised a sponsored litter pick in Epping Forest, raising £335 for the choir. More than 20 people took part, collecting over a dozen bags of rubbish, and Orry’s initiative was recognised with a Jack Petchey Environmental Award and a £300 grant. That award has since helped fund new gardening tools for the church grounds.
Henry’s litter pick builds on that success. Please come along, join in, and support the event if you can.
If you can’t take part but would like to donate, please donate to Chingford Parish Church Choir (contact Mike Emerson – director-of-music for bank account details):
Help the Forest, support our amazing choir, and support our local community too.
Please sign up by the end of May if you would like to take part. The sign-up and sponsorship forms are in the vestry.
Thank you,
Henry Huggins
