These awards sit within the RSCM’s ‘Voice for Life’ training scheme, which helps singers grow in vocal technique, musicianship, understanding and confidence as part of the life of a church choir. The medals and ribbons mark progress and achievement within the scheme, but they are not simply decorative or given just for long service. The real aim is to encourage the right attitude, developing competence, and a sense of responsibility and service.
That is one of the reasons Voice for Life is such an important part of our choir life. It supports young singers – and singers of any age – in growing not only as musicians, but also as thoughtful and committed members of a choir serving the church and wider community.
Very well done to everyone who took part!
