Chingford visits Esher for Choral Evensong

On Sunday 10th May, members of Chingford Parish Church travelled to Esher to join their church community for Choral Evensong.

Esher is where Fr Darren served before coming to Chingford last year and they visited earlier this year for Evensong on 1st March.

Fifteen singers from Chingford made the trip, joined by members of the congregation, and together we shared in worship with Esher’s own choir and congregation.

The combined choir sang music including Pitoni’s Cantate Domino, Rose responses, Murrill’s setting in E, and Parry’s I Was Glad. After the service, there was time for refreshments, conversation, coffee and cake.

These shared services are a lovely way of building friendship between churches, supporting one another, and keeping the tradition of Choral Evensong alive and flourishing.

Many thanks to our friends at Esher for their warm welcome, and to everyone from Chingford who travelled, sang, worshipped and shared in the afternoon.
