Along with thousands of other churches and parishes across the UK we’ll be marking Safeguarding Sunday in the Parish of Chingford on Sunday 15 November.
This year’s theme is ‘Love Protects’ – rooted in the powerful words of 1 Corinthians 13 – reminding us that safeguarding isn’t just about policy or compliance, but a natural expression of Christian love in action.
Safeguarding Sunday is an opportunity for us to pause and reflect on our safeguarding journey – to celebrate the good work already happening, be honest about where things can improve, and commit to continuing to build safer places for everyone in our care. At its heart, this day is about living out our faith. When we truly love others, protecting them isn’t a box to tick – it’s simply what love does.
