First-time Microsoft Sign-in Prompts
When you sign into an individual parish email account for the first time, Microsoft may ask you to complete some additional setup steps.
This is normal.
Change your password
Microsoft may ask you to change the temporary password that was provided to you.
If this is an individual parish email account, follow the instructions and choose a strong password.
If this is a role-based parish email account, such as rector@parishofchingford.org.uk or deputy.churchwardens@parishofchingford.org.uk, the first-time setup should already have been completed by the Parish IT Administrator. If you are prompted to change the password, stop and contact the Parish IT Administrator before continuing.
Stay signed in?
Microsoft may ask:
Stay signed in?
If you are using your own computer, you can normally click Yes.
If you are using a public or shared computer, click No.
More information required
Microsoft may occasionally ask for additional information, such as a recovery email address or telephone number.
For role-based parish email accounts, this information should normally already have been configured by the Parish IT Administrator.
If you are unsure what to do, stop and contact the Parish IT Administrator.
Something doesn’t look right
If you see a screen that is not covered by this guide, or you are unsure how to proceed, contact the Parish IT Administrator before continuing.
It is better to ask than to accidentally lock an account or change settings that affect other users.
