WHAT CAN WE SAY ABOUT GOD?

WHAT IS THE PROPER CHRISTIAN LIFE?

HOW SHOULD WE WORSHIP?

St Augustine, fifteen hundred years ago, described the Christian’s hope of heaven like this:
“We
shall rest and we shall see, we shall love and we shall praise, in the end which is no end.”

Come and join us as we learn together in Chingford Parish this autumn what it means to be a faithful Christian today:

How (Not) To Be A Heretic

Christianity has a lot to say about God and humanity’s response to him. And Christianity doesn’t have a monopoly on “God-talk”. Plenty of other people and traditions talk about what it means to be spiritual, religious, and human. Are there any limits to what we can say about God or does anything go? What does the Christian tradition say about God, religion, and Christian hope?

How Do We Read in Church?

It is not easy to read the lessons in public worship. And yet, as Christians we believe that by reading the Scriptures in public, we allow ourselves to come into the presence of God, and to discern His purposes for us. If you are interested in reading in church at any point in the future, or if you only want to learn more about what the meaning of reading might be, then you are most welcome

Sunday, 17 September, 11.30 am–12.30 pm in Chingford Parish Church.

Sunday, 8 October, 11.30 am–12.30 pm in All Saints’ Church.

How Do We Pray in Church?

Prayer is one of vital ingredients in making the meal that is the Holy Eucharist, and the ministry of leading the  prayers of intercession is especially important. If you are interested in leading the prayers of intercession at any point in the future, or if you only want to learn  more about what the prayers of intercession are supposed to be, then you are most welcome to attend.
