ORGAN SCHOLARSHIP APPOINTMENT

We are delighted that Alex Coutts became our new Organ Scholar and began working with our team of musicians in June. Alex was educated at Hampton School and Cambridge University, where he read Modern Languages, graduating in June 2020. He is currently a Master’s student at University College London. Whilst at Cambridge, Alex held Academic and Organ Scholarships at Magdalene College. The latter position saw him perform extensively across Europe and the U.S.A., at venues such as Ely and St. Edmunsbury Cathedrals, All Saints’ Margaret Street, Augsburg Cathedral, and Trinity Church,

Choir responding to Covid-19

The choirs of Ss. Peter & Paul’s Church in Chingford returned to sing at the Church onSunday 25 April 2021, following the recent lockdown.The renowned choirs, which consist of a boys’ choir, a girls’ choir, a men’s choir and TheChingford Singers (a womens’ choir), sing at a very high standard, performing regularly atcathedrals all over the country and indeed, internationally. Sadly lockdown has meant thatsinging could not take place in person at the Church in recent months.However, the choirs did not let COVID-19 stand in the way of their music making

Return of the choir – BBC Breakfast News, Easter Sunday

The choirs of Chingford Parish Church were very pleased to be filmed by the BBC for broadcast on BBC News on Easter Day.
