Come along and welcome (Fr) Lee Taylor,

new full time Assistant Curate for the Parish.

Lee was born in Wales moving to Basildon with his family at 3 growing up there and in Wickford.  Lee’s previous career was in Local Government, working in libraries, and supporting councillors and leadership teams.  These roles were great for working with people and gaining leadership and management skills.

He grew up in the Pentecostal tradition and did his initial theological and ministerial training there, gaining a BA and MA.  He started attending St John the Baptist, Danbury in 2006 where he was Churchwarden for 5 years and latterly attended St Andrews, Boreham before his training.

Lee has been in a Civil Partnership with Charlie since 2008, living in Chelmsford before moving to Mirfield to study at the College of the Resurrection.  He enjoys travelling, wine tasting (especially if those two things can be combined!) and used to enjoy the gym, which he is hoping to again.  The Curatage will be in Mark Avenue and they are both looking forward to forest walks and having London on the doorstep again!

His sense of calling has come about through his awareness of the lavish hospitality and welcome of God in Christ Jesus and the desire to live that out as a witness to living life to its fullest in God’s Kingdom.

Lee is very excited to be joining Fr Andy, Mthr Susan, and the wider team and to be part of the ambitious vision for the parish.

His first service in the parish will be on 16th July and there will be a reception to follow at the Rectory.

All parishioners are encouraged to come along and welcome Lee and Charlie into the parish.
