The Feast of the Annunciation

Mothering Sunday

This Sunday the parish marks the Feast of the Annunciation of the Angel Gabriel to Mary, Mother of God, where we celebrate the announcement to Mary that she would be the God Bearer and Mother of Jesus.  Of course, it was a singular event but it does remind us that God often- indeed normally- chooses the most earthly mundane things to announce His presence to us and the most normal of people in which become present to us.

We might remember that He even chooses us from time to time!

This Sunday we also mark Mothering Sunday, and remember that God is mother as well as father to us all.  We celebrate that tender gathering love that we all can share with one another.

The principle services are a Parade Service at All Saints and a Sung Eucharist at Ss Peter and Paul at which the Archdeacon of West Ham will preach.  Both begin at 10.oo am.  Festal Evensong begins at 6.30 pm.

with MUSIC AND READINGS and NEWS for the week ahead.
