ST LUKE THE EVANGELIST- THIS SUNDAY   This Sunday the Parish celebrates the life and ministry of St Luke, Doctor, Painter, Author of a quarter of the New Testament. There will be Festal Eucharists with Anointing of Holy Oil for Healing, Sunday Clubs and Creche at 10am:                  At All Saints (the Old Church) the Parish Community Choir, Purple Praise, will be singing.                At the Ss Peter & Paul (the Parish Church) the Parish and Girls’ Choirs will sing.  The Music may be found HERE At 6.30pm there will be a short meditative service with silence, songs, and reflections on Healing led by Fr Lee.     THIS WEEK’S WEEKLY SHEET CAN BE FOUND HERE

Celebrating 175 Years of ‘A Church that Sings’

In 2019 the Parish Church is 175 years young To celebrate our heritage as 'A Church that Sings' we will be organising a range of  activities and embarking on the largest renovation and redecoration that we have ever seen.  The first phase, which we are already in, sees £330,000 of surveying, roof and stone repairs, minor re-ordering and a total paint-removal and will be completed next Spring.   To celebrate our birthday we have been awarded £250K pounds by the Heritage Lottery Fund for the first of the  phases of works and to

HARVEST FESTIVAL This Sunday is the Parish Harvest Festival.  ALL AGE Services at 10am at All Saints and Ss Peter & Paul Festal Evensong at 6.30pm at Ss Peter & Paul Do come to one of the services and say 'THANKS TO GOD'!   There will be food collections for the E4 Eat or Heat Foodbank . Our money offering will go wholly to two families in the congregation directly affected by the earthquake and hurricanes in the Caribbean and Mexico.  please be generous and bring some extra cash for our brothers

York 2017 The sum of parts Our choirs enjoyed a highly successful visit to York in August, singing the services in the Cathedral (usually referred to as the ‘Minster’) for a week.  No fewer than six different combinations of voices appeared on different occasions, climaxing with the full complement of boys, girls and men together in the final evensong on Sunday. Otherwise evensongs, plus Eucharist and Matins on Sunday, mainly alternated between girls and men, and boys and men (who also sang one evensong in Wakefield Cathedral on the Minster’s ‘blank’
